Liz Sherwood

Communications & Project Management

Liz Sherwood joined us in 2019 as a project coordinator, bringing her skills and experience in conservation advocacy and community engagement.

Liz has a Masters degree in ecology from Otago University, and has worked for the Department of Conservation in Otago, Southland and Northland in varied roles but all involving advocacy and collaborative work with landowners, iwi, community groups and NGOs.

Based in Dunedin, Liz worked for the Endangered Species Foundation for five years while raising her two young children, and now loves her advocacy work for local conservation trust - the Halo Project and Predator Free Dunedin.

Liz loves to write with purpose. She is inspired by the amazing work that people do to protect local biodiversity. She loves being involved in projects which involve whole communities, innovative approaches and help people to tread lightly and support restoration.

Liz is currently working on trials of a new method for revegetating large areas of land.
