Ray Mohan

Carbon, Farming and Energy Consultant

Ray is an environmental consultant who joined the Ahika team in 2020, specialising in life cycle assessments (LCA). She enjoys being involved in a range of projects around carbon, energy management and farming. Ray has worked with farmers in the Otago and Southland regions on farm environmental planning and nutrient management and enjoys developing mitigation strategies to support clients’ goals. She completed her BSc (Environmental Science), PGDip Technology (Energy Management) and MBS at Massey University.

Ray has a keen interest in the intersect between environmental and economic development and is passionate about projects that drive sustainable innovation in our communities. Her thesis was focused on NZ’s fast-growing sheep dairy sector, where she worked with Wairarapa sheep dairy farmers to assess the use of LCA as a tool to improve on-going farm environmental practices.

Her previous research experience includes designing a low-carbon transport system for the Taiepa Tiketike project with Massey's Centre for Energy Research, working alongside the Parihaka Papakāinga and community.

In her spare time, Ray enjoys playing squash at her local club and fishing in Central Otago.
